My house shall be called a house of prayer

By Frank King
It is written, My house shall be called the house of  prayer,” Jesus said concerning the church (Matthew 21:13). He was quoting from
the Book of Isaiah where this was written.  But how often do we hear people refer  to the house of God as the house of prayer? Not very often.

My observation has been that a  local church’s regularly scheduled meeting for corporate prayer is the least  attended of all regularly scheduled opportunities for worship. In over 30 years  of preaching and pastoring, I have not come across one exception to this
statement, though there may be a few. Some churches don’t even have such a  corporate meeting. Hence, we have long ways to go if we are to live up to being  called the house of prayer. Read full article from here:

How important is worship and what role should it play in the Christian life?  Throughout Scripture we see worship mentioned in both the Old and New Testament  in various ways. David dancing before the Lord, Jesus rejoicing in the Spirit  and the outporuing of worship in the early church. Bishop T.D. Jakes shares his  idea of worship and what it means to the spiritual life.

Beliefnet:
What is worship and what does it mean to you?

Bishop T.D. Jakes:Well for me worship and my understanding  of worship comes from the Latin word “worth-ship” and it is where we
express God's worth to us in our lives. Worship is essential to really create an  atmosphere for the word of God to flow and for God to move in our lives  corporately and individually.
