It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer,” Jesus said concerning the church (Matthew 21:13). He was quoting from the Book of Isaiah where this was written. But how often do we hear people refer to the house of God as the house of prayer? Not very often. My observation has been that a local church’s regularly scheduled meeting for corporate prayer is the least attended of all regularly scheduled opportunities for worship. In over 30 years of preaching and pastoring, I have not come across one exception to this statement, though there may be a few. Some churches don’t even have such a corporate meeting. Hence, we have long ways to go if we are to live up to being called the house of prayer. Read full article from here:
